Tips for Saving Money

On Amazon.ca you can get free shipping if you spend $39 or more.
I try to keep my Wishlist up to date so that when a book does come along and Amazon has got it cheapest, I can double-up on my order and get something else I’ve had my eye on.
But they have this crazy algorithm (at least, that’s my theory) that prices most things at a price which makes it exceedingly difficult to hit $39 without going over significantly (if you’re buying 2 or 3 books).
It took a lot of searching the Amazon.ca site to find this (and it’s NOT in the deals section, mind you), but I finally found a great solution to this problem of being just a few dollars away from free shipping.
Dover Thrift Editions.
Basically, cheap books. Classics that you should probably read. They’re a couple bucks, and if you’re just a few dollars away from free shipping, toss one in. And you can get pretty ones, too!
And in case anyone is interested…
Firefly is on sale for $25 down from $70. (I couldn’t justify buying it because we already own it).
